this sat the 30th....
so.. hehe oops my 8 minute study break just turned into a 50min study break >.>
how did that happen..
i woke up at 1PM!! 0___0
wondered into the kitchen and wheeeeeee thank you to the Koreans for cooking up an awesome lunch..well breakfast for me to taste. dumplings, rice cakes, pancake thingy, ice cream... mmmmmmmmmmmm....... if only i could speak korean and participate in your lively conversations.
the queens/dutch/orange party was last night, which was loads of fun. Sadly i cannot upload photos due to the ridiculously funny embarrassing poses and random snaps i took of people. but here are a few.
the pre-party, where they played slap cut. a drinking game
and got beer slashed in my face -.-"
i wasn't even near the table, was catching up with people sitting on the couches *sigh*

i forget the origin of queens day , but its a very dutch thing. and for a whole 24hours + everyone dress from head to toe in orange, as the queen's surname sounds like the word orange commemorating the bday of the queen. . or something like that.
*copy paste from net*
"On April 30, the Dutch celebrate Koninginnedag ("Queen's Day"), a national holiday to commemorate the birthday of the country's (former) Queen. It is by far the most widely celebrated holiday in the Netherlands. Amsterdam festivities in particular rival those of Mardi Gras in New Orleans or New Year's Eve in New York City. As such, Amsterdam is packed to the gills on April 30, welcoming up to two million party-going visitors."
OH! went on a hike, for the randomness of it, as the idea popped up due to the fact it was still bright outside 7.45pm.
didn't leave til 8.30pm...but totally worth it!!! Stumbled up and slipped down the hills behind ihouse for tour hours 0____0
met some rumblings in the bushes, saw incredible views, discovered the SWING! and conversed with an intellectual traveler. Randomly out of now where in the hills, Emmanuel comes across Travis and his girlfriend, tent pitched and camp fire going. WOW. so interesting.
heard his story and his eternal connection with the universe. very friendly person.

that tall structure is sather tower on campus. 64 bells up there that play three times a day i think. =] its 93.6meters tall!!
=]

PHOTOS FROM A FAR! (finally)
*thanks to justin for letting me borrow ya laptop to upload all these pics XD
BERKELEY COLLEGE TOWN

i don't really understand what it means to be a "college town" but from what i gather, the places is populated by students (35,000) and all the stores are mainly targeting students.
We buy our readers OFF CAMPUS! how odd, and there are many copy stores in the area which could take 10mins a walk to buy a reader for one subject. annoying.
the above picture is not of a university store, but rather a clothing store down the road opposite campus. THERE IS SOO MUCH MERCHANDISE!!! its not funny. EVERYONE SELLS CAL GEAR. even the local pharmacy sells berkeley clothes. weird!
hoodie designs = 20!!!
tshirts
cal stickers/labels of anything you can imagine, pens, pompoms, banners, cups, mugs, socks, cutlery, slippers, keyrings, drink bottles, they have a DRINK BRAND called Cal Muscle and its like choc milk.
SAN FRANCISCO TRIP! (as cal student you get free bus travel!! awesome)

i didnt end up trying one, they say NY is the place for them
the pier. ...cooolllld

city centre. looks so fake eh?!?!
but yer..everything is extremely elegantly grand.. so many pillars 0_0
local street views

cable cars =]

UN Building . ps. that's not me, someone had to walk into the picture Y_Y
CAMPUS SHOTS!

oldest building on campus maybe

famous bell tower, 64 bells up there and someone actually sits there
and plays music for everyone to hear at certain times of the day!
there was a class where you can learn how to play.
but after a visit up there.. no thanks. looks so complex!

library reading rooms 0_0

a lot of the buildings look like this. this one is of the library

the business school tutorial rooms
SERIOUSLY! looks like a court room jury area theme

the berkeley art museum down the road
(this pics off google =P)
*visit here for neat pics!! http://www.berkeley.edu/photos/buildings/
IHOUSE

where im staying

its a maze inside

my half of the room.
i dont intend of sticking stuff over the walls. keeping it bauhaus style
(Bauhasu was an art movement in Germany from 1919-1933ish that
lived for practicality and function. ie. don't design a shirt with collars
and buttons if there is no need for them)
eheh thanks frank for the present!! ya can see it in the room!
comes in extremely handy!!
