Eastern Health Intern Program 2011

GENERAL INFORMATION
Intern Information Session to be held 3.00pm - 5.00 pm Friday 13TH MAY 2011, Box Hill Town Hall , 1022 Whitehorse Rd, Box Hill.
Eastern Health offers a comprehensive Intern Orientation program to allow you to commence your medical career in a positive and supportive environment.
Interns will undertake rotations at the following hospitals:
Box Hill, Angliss, Maroondah,Peter James Centre, Epworth Eastern as well as Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. Eastern Health provides extensive general experience as a base for your future medical career.
Rotations include General Surgery, General Medicine, Emergency, ENT Surgery, Aged Care, Psychiatry and Radiology.
The intern year is divided into 5 terms of 10 or 11 week duration. Rosters are structured to ensure that core terms are completed as per the Medical Practitioners Board requirements.
Selection:
For Pool 1 candidates
Selection is based on application, academic record and references (including 1 non clinical reference).
Application letters should show a brief understanding of Eastern Health and why you would chose to work at Eastern Health.
CV's should include prizes, awards and external interests.
Due to the number of Victorian University, Australian Resident Graduates,Eastern Health has elected not to interview Pool 1 candidates for the 2012 intake.
You will not be disadvantaged by this change in selection. We encourage you to come to our information session where your questions will be answered.

Pool 2 candidates
Interviews will be held between June 14th 2011 and Friday 1st July 2011. Bookings will be taken at the EH information session and the EH booth at the Medical Careers Expo on May 13th 2011.
Alternatively, please call Medical Workforce Unit on 9895 3286 to book an interview or for any further information.

Hi,
Could you actually tell me the difference between a Pool 1 and a Pool 2 candidate?
Can't seem to find what the actual difference is, apart from the fact that Pool 2 gets an interview...
