anime fragment dislikes

Those try-to-be-dramatic-moments when there is silence of action and only the sound of wind/ocean swooshy-ness is heard, with hair going all flicky
breaking continuity

samurai champloo

lewl. nothing of substance. but gets the chuckle out of me.

incredible diversity in themes
super disjointed

- Christianity
- the undead
- American baseball

... all in the Edo period??
.... all in one hour??!?!

lewl.

suprised anime caught my attention for more than an hour
still.. those stupid moments when the characters stand still and the wind blows in the air still irks me

"we have exchanged thousands of emails yet our hearts are not a centimeter closer"

hmm.. at least i think that was a quote of in the movie... if not it's close enough
looks like a brilliantly composed piece of work by Makoto Shinkai

a work about memory, loss, distance and love.

watched the ending in class.

the film is set out in three episodes, that span the duration of 10 years.

the style is an interesting one of 'photorealism', where the artist took photos of locations of Japan and then rendered over the top of them.

will review this later when i get round to watching it_

CHEER!

hmm a blog about the 20th jan (USA time)

two classes. Anime class watched Fooly Cooly. ZOMG! i can't believe it. so that's the name of the anime we watched in year 10 Richie VCD class. =.=" I really didn't like it. It makes no sense.
But I guess its an excellent example of what anime may be, pushing boundaries classical cinema can never achieve.

seriously, who thinks being bashed in the head by a guitar leads to a bump that grows into a robot that busts itself out of the child's head @_@ dahh... what?

hmm..i still haven't uploaded photos. but here is one...

picture credit to Miguel! =] from spain

there was a demonstration of the cheer Berkeley gives. and ...i missed it Y_Y nuts

"tells us your name and something interesting about yourself" - tutor (GSI aka. Graduate student instructor?)

"Hi I'm Sandra, and I'm an exchange student from Australia so I'm not sure what year I am in, and today is my birthday" =]
