video game & eye movement study
bout time they did an updated study =P
Melbourne University 5th year Optom Students Research project_
"...we are investigating if video game play can improve eye movement and visual searching skills and we need both gamers and non gamers to help us out.
We are seeking 18-35 year old men and women, who regularly play e ither strategy or first person shooter based video games, or who have little to no video game experience.
To be eligible to participate as a video game player, you must have played a minimum of 5 hours of video games per week for the last 6 months. To be eligible to participate as a non-video game player you should have played less than half an hour of video games per week for the past 6 months, although no video game play in the past 6 months is preferable.
The investigation will take place at the eye movement laboratory at the University of Melbourne Parkville campus and involve a single session of approximately 60 minutes in duration. We envisage these sessions will take place in June-July 2012.
The project has ethics approval from the University of Melbourne Human Research Ethics Committee. HREC approval 1237808.
