THR Film review_

THR = The Hollywood Reporter =P Don't be fooled. It's decent and not "entertainment tabloid stuff"

1. The (apparently) AMAZING!  Spiderman.

... seriously? another reboot? *shrugs* If it rakes in the money, why not?
Director: Marc Webb (lewl get it?)
Their bottom line was that it portrays a darker spiderman has "emotional depth" and packed with comedy.
woah. that is saying a lot. Emotional depth = character development AND clever plot devises.
How are they going to achieve this? Building up on the previous movies and context of Spiderman.

"It’s not a comeback. You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn’t see in movies 1, 2, and 3.” - Executive producer Avi Arad

Interesting. This would mean to be anticipated good acting from the leads  The Amazing Spider-Man movie
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone

... this could be interesting. Why do I get the feeling I will be cringing whilst I watch them? What an intense stare from Garfield off set LOL

Curiously Director Marc Webb isn't that well known a director, and has like 1 indie film in his portfolio. His most known film would be the recent 500 Days of Summer - quirky and quick dialogue. Hmm... if this goes well for Webb, larger projects are looking good for him.

2. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

"At a taut 105 minutes, Abraham Lincoln credibly delivers the thrills and gore it promises, though it’s ultimately too lightweight and conventional to merit either cult or classic status." - THR

Alright, what do we have here? Apart from very classically dressed gentleman on the surface and blood hungry killers by night. We have fantasy vs historical events warped into a hybrid of horrible-history-action-flick.

Honestly when I watched the trailer, I laughed. Not because it was funny, but because of the "are-you-for-real?" aspect. So yes, I'm very very curious as to how Timur Bekmambetov directors this interesting spin on history in collaboration with the author Seth Grahame-Smith to which this film is based off his works.

This has the potential to be very very cult-ishly good. Expect gore =P
