Textile Graphic/Print Designer - Casual


We are seeking a casual Graphic/Print Designer to join our friendly Head Office team located in Melbourne, Australia. Reporting to the Buying & Design Manager, your role is to translate the designer’s visions into reality through the application of computer aided design.
Your role is to develop a range of textile graphics and yardage & placement prints, embroideries & embellishments that are in sync with up and coming trends and reflect the Forever New brand. You will be working in a fast paced environment and therefore must be dedicated, hard working and have the ability to work under pressure.
You are a highly creative graphic designer who is always on the look out for the next up and coming trend before it happens! Being a fashion savvy individual you gain satisfaction by continually providing new and fresh ideas to ensure our ranges always reflect the current market trends before our competitors!
Role Responsibilities;
  • As briefed by the Designer develop a range of graphic/prints (from idea to finished art) in sync with the handwriting and image of Forever New
  • Maintain knowledge of current and potential fashion trends and consistently put forward new graphic/print ideas to Design team
  • Present up and coming trends and new ideas in the form of Mood boards
  • Predict and interpret fashion trends in a commercial way
  • Design commercially successful product
  • Review the performance of your designs by analysing relevant information such as best/worst sellers, return rates and markdowns to identify products that work well for the Forever New brand
  • Develop innovative designs under tight deadlines
The ideal candidate will possess;
  • Graphic experience within women’s apparel
  • Natural creative flair
  • Confidence to liaise closely with Designers & Buyers to keep our ranges on trend
  • Solid Photoshop and Illustrator experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a challenging workload and meet deadlines
  • Work with a sense of urgency
  • Prioritisation & organisation skills
Relevant Tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
