Meet Max. He is 44, lives in New York, has Asperger's syndrome, loves chocolate hot dogs and is made from plasticine.

To celebrate Mary and Max: The Exhibition and the craft of the claymation animator, ACMI wants you to create your own plasticine character, take a photograph and send it in to our gallery.

You may want to create a set for your character, inspired by director Adam Elliot's exquisitely detailed world on show in the exhibition? Or perhaps take your character out and photograph them in the real world - it's up to you.

Tell us about your character too. Who are they? What are some of their favourite things?

The entry that most captures our judges' imagination will win an exclusive photographic print from the film Mary and Max, signed by Adam Elliot. There are also Mary and Max DVDs for our winner and two runners-up.

The competition is open to all ages and closes 30 April 2010. Please read the Terms and Conditions before entering.
